Contemporary painting, watercolour, and mixed media exploring human psychology, social observation, the gaze, and the living memory of Bangladesh.
"My art develops from observation — of people, relationships, society, nature, memory and the emotional circumstances that shape everyday life."
I am interested in the distance between what we experience internally and what society allows us to express publicly. The eye is one of the most important recurring symbols in my work — representing seeing and being seen, awareness, judgment, memory and the silent presence of society. Ultimately, I consider painting a space where reality, memory, emotion, imagination and observation can coexist.

Md Olil Miah is a Bangladeshi contemporary visual artist whose practice spans painting, mixed media, photography, drawing, printmaking, community art, and experimental visual expression. His work is driven by an ongoing inquiry into human psychology, social dynamics, women's lived experiences, memory, and the emotional realities of contemporary life.
A defining signature in his visual language is the motif of the eye — recurring, enlarged, or fragmented — functioning as a powerful metaphor for consciousness, vulnerability, social scrutiny, and quiet contemplation. Across paper, canvas, and photographic prints, Olil constructs evocative spaces where personal history and collective reality converge.
